Previous soundproofing 2026MAY14 ATS
New in this version:
Added soundproofing for the 2021 Volvo VNR Electric and the 2025 Volvo VNL.
This mod brings back a similar soundproofing from 1.42 for ATS default trucks affected by the 1.43 interior cabin sound update.
With this mod, you get a comfortable experience, with outside sounds, including the engine quieter when the windows are closed.
Features:
Stops in-cab sounds from being louder than when the camera is outside and next to the engine.
Reduces the excess reverb in the cabin.
Lowers the sound volume of high-pitched sounds, such as the turbo when windows are closed.

You can enable this mod with low priority in the Mod Manager if you want.
Modders are welcome to use the baseline settings provided in this mod for sound_effects_units.sui
Tip: Do not stray too far in increasing gain values, because it may affect all sounds, such as traffic and ambient sounds.

How to install ETS2 mods or ATS Mods
In Euro Truck Simulator 2 it’s easy to install mods. You just need to download mod from here, copy/unzip files into: “My Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\mod” folder or if you play ATS please install mods to: “My Documents\American Truck Simulator\mod” folder. To unzip files you can use: WinRAR or 7zip. After that you need to activate the mods you want to use.
